Three generations of the Kliewer family from Reedley
CA. Grow fruit on their Central California farm. In 1973 they were one of the first local farmers to grow kiwifruit. In 2017 they broke new ground, marketing the Mega Kiwi.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Mega Kiwi is a very sustainable crop that yields more per acre than your average kiwi. These large fruits also use less pollinators, due to their 70% self-pollination rate.
Not only does the Mega Kiwi look and taste like no other fruit, it's also available when most other fresh fruits aren't. In California, harvest begins in late September, with most of the fruit being harvested in October and early November. So you can be assured of having plenty of fresh, sweet Mega Kiwi available for the winter and spring months! This varieties high fruitfulness, combined with low labor costs required to thin and harvest the fruit formulates a production cost that is approximately half that of the currently cultivated Hayward variety.
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
I love Mega Kiwi! I believe I read in one of your postings they are available at Raley's? I will definitely make a trip to pick some up!
I had two last night, just for dessert! YUM.
Mega Kiwi is my absolute favorite. I get so much more bang for my buck because they are so huge!
