This recipe is packed with amazing nutrients, color AND flavor. Mega Kiwi Mango Smoothie is good for your skin, heart and energy levels. This is not your average smoothie!
Here's what you need:
1 cup of carrot juice (or shredded carrot)
1 Mega Kiwi
1 Mango
Instructions:
Peel and shred or grate the carrots if you do not have carrot juice
If you have a juicer, throw those carrots in and get some fresh juice!
cut the mango and Mega Kiwi into chunks
place all ingredients in a blender
(if you are using the shredded carrots, add about 1/2 cup of water)
blend and serve
I have an amazing shredder/ food processor from Royal Prestige that has multiple attachments. Hand graters work just as well, but are more time consuming and messy. My Royal Prestige grater has a suctioned base that anchors to your counter top to prevent slippage (how convenient is that??) Whatever you have available, get to shredding!
Mango and Mega Kiwi can be tricky to slice. From the stem of the mango cut vertically along either side of the pit, leaving the meat of the mango attached to the skin. Create slits vertically and diagonally on the mango (which cubes it) and cut off the cubes.
Cut Mega Kiwi in half and run a spoon between the skin and meat of the Mega Kiwi. We call this slooping! This ensures the Mega Kiwi comes out clean and whole.
Once you have all of your ingredients prepared, dump them in your blender! Remember to add water to your ingredients if you don't have carrot juice or a juicer on hand.
If you want to enhance the flavor of this smoothie, you could add other sweeteners like honey and sugar. You can also pour in some ice cubes if you want to have an extra cold dessert!
It's the perfect morning energizer or a sweet and cold treat for the kids after school. Mega Kiwi Mango Smoothie is a win-win!
